加州大学三藩分校一名中国籍男博士后因涉嫌投毒谋害同系的一名中国女同事被捕。警方称，该校泌尿系38岁的男博士后刘本春（音译，Ben Chun Liu）在女同事曹梅（音译，Mei Cao）的饮料中下毒。

调查人员称，在刘的家中和他工作的实验室发现了他毒害女同事曹梅的证据。刘因涉嫌试图谋杀和下毒，被警方逮捕，收押于三藩郡监狱。刘本春是正在移民签证的中国公民。

曹梅在本校医学中心体检后出院。警方称，刘本春作案动机还在调查中。

A UCSF postdoctoral fellow has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and poisoning of a university lab research associate, the UCSF Police Department reported Tuesday.

Ben Chun Liu, a 38-year-old male Chinese resident employed at UCSF on a work visa, was arrested Nov. 7 for allegedly poisoning the drink of Mei Cao, his female colleague in the UCSF Department of Urology, UCSF police said.

Liu was placed on an immigration hold and remained in custody at the San Francisco County Jail on Monday morning, officers said.

Cao was examined at the UCSF Medical Center and later released, police said.

UCSF Police Department detectives searched the University lab where both Liu and Cao worked, as well as Liu’s home, and recovered evidence of the poisoning, police said.

The motive for the poisoning has not been determined, and there appear to be no other victims or suspects, UCSF police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
