On 28 September, it was reported that the Pacific Gas Electricity Company (PG&E) had announced that 13 counties in California, including 4 in the Bay Area, might experience power outages in the coming week as a result of the increased risk of wildfires and that more than 13,000 users might be affected.

According to the Pacific Gas Electricity Corporation, public safety power outages (PSS) may be implemented in parts of Alamida, Contra Costa, Napa and Sonoma counties from Monday (1st). Approximately 1,000 users in the Bay Area may be affected. The power outages vary from county to district, as follows:

• Alamida district: Power outages may begin between 4.30 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Tuesday and continue until 1 p.m.
