Coca-Cola will launch a new sugar-cola in the United States.

On 22 July, prior to the United States stock exchange, the Coca-Cola Company (KO.N) issued a financial statement for the second quarter of 2025, which showed that the company received $12.35 billion in revenue for the second quarter, an increase of 1 per cent over the second quarter and an increase of 5 per cent in organic revenue (non-accepted accounting standards); a net profit of $3.81 billion, an increase of 58 per cent over the previous year; an increase of 63 per cent in operating profits and an increase in operating profits from 21.3 per cent to 34.1 per cent over the same period of the previous year; and a gain (non-accepted accounting standards) of $0.87 per share, an increase of 4 per cent over the previous year, an estimate of $0.83 per cent.

In the report, Coca-Cola stated that it was planning to expand its series of Coca-Cola trademarks by introducing a product in the United States of America this fall, using United States sugar. The product was designed to complement the company’s core product portfolio and provide more options for different settings and preferred consumers.

At that day's financial conference, Coca-Cola's executive director reiterated the plan, “As you may have seen last week, we thank the President for his enthusiasm for our Coca-Cola brand,” said James Quincey, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Coca-Cola.

Jaynjie pointed out that the company had already used this sweet agent in a number of drinks, “in fact, many other brands in the United States product mix use sugar, from lemonade to tea, to coffee products, and some vitamin water beverages”.

Previously, the Global Network quoted a number of American media reports that US President Trunch, on 16 local time, had said that Coca-Cola had agreed to use real sugar in the United States for the production of Coca-Cola. At that time, Coca-Cola spokesmen, while not directly acknowledging the change in formulations, had promised to “release the innovative details of the Coca-Cola series soon”.

Currently, cola marketed in the United States usually uses corn syrup as a sweetener, while Coca-Cola in Mexico, the United Kingdom, Australia, and elsewhere uses sugar formulations. Some food scientists suggest that there are subtle differences in the taste of these two sweets: high-fructose corn syrup peaks arrive earlier, helping to enhance the taste of fruits and spices, while sugar is more condensed and lasting.
